The WTO Committee
I'm here in Vancouver with a great gathering of young people. Again, I'm the oldest delegate here, but I'm doing my best. I'm representing the country of Iran, and it's a lonely position. I'm doing my best to try and stall any progress the United States would try and propagate in the committee.
Today a full day of deliberations, free trade and protectionism, countries decide who they will trade with and who they won't. There has been a generational shift from national interests to national economic interests. This may sound American centric, but this has been an historically American tradition. Liberalism does have a record of success.
ReplyDeleteThe SFU Model United Nations conference is coming to a close, and I was able to put my mark on this conference. Participating in the Model United Nations conferences is a great experience, and a great way to meet some great young students. There's a-lot to look forward too for this generation. I really do believe the greatest generation mantel should be passed on. I am looking forward to participating in these conferences again next year. The press conference went well.
ReplyDeleteThis is my United Nations Conference blog. I really hope there can be a world Model United Nations conference in Vancouver in 2012.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is going to come in handy for my next courses. I'm going to use this for my assignments.
